INTRO:



A true one off, this handmade wooden lamp from the 1940's was passed down within the same family. Constructed from teak and featuring a ring mounted upon an elyptical base, this gorgeous, unique lamp is cottagecore at its finest. The lamp has been brought safely into the 21st century with all new components.

CONDITION:



The base is in excellent vintage condition, with gorgeous grain swirls that have revealed themselves perfectly with after gentle cleaning and polishing with beeswax. A few scuffs and minor dents in the wood can be found, but these are simply part of the vintage charm.

The original brass lamp holder assembly was damaged and scuffed, and was spoiling the aesthetics of the lamp. As such, it have been replaced with brand new brass, which absolutely pops against the gorgeously glossy honeyed teak.

THE TECHNICAL BIT:



RING has had all existing electrical components removed and replaced with modern variants. In the place of the original corroded Bakelite B22 lamp holder now sits a gorgeous, machine-milled brass E27/ES version with new matching brass fitments, extended from the base to ensure maximum visibility once a lampshade is added.

RIDGE has been rewired with luxurious quality linen and rayon covered cable in a fantastic black and white herringbone pattern, featuring a high quality white inline rocker switch 20cm from the lamp base (and a further 1m to the matching white UK 3-pin plug). The metal lamp holder is earthed using three-core cable, and RINGS has been thoroughly PAT tested and approved (with a sticker affixed near the plug to show the PASS status). Components comprise of a British-made and certified lamp holder and plug, and Italian-made cable and switch, which have passed or exceeded relevant CE and EU electrical integrity tests. Finally, the base has been resealed with felt to ensure smooth contact with soft furnishings.
