Hello, and thanks for stopping by lumenowl!

*PLEASE NOTE*: The included bulb is only suitable for UK/European voltage system, and will not function on 110/120V AC.

    INTRO:

A completely original creation, this gorgeous, sleek little table lamp came about as a brainwave during in the middle of doing a hundred other things. The metal frame has been harvested from a lamp that broke during transit to me, but I liked the base so much, I kept it, hoping I'd one day have use for it.

The small, matte black tripod base has been retrofitted with a new brass column and lamp holder. I've paired the lamp with a contemporary-yet-extremely-retro XXL 8w, very warm white LED bulb. This gorgeous, one-of-a-kind little lamp would make fantastic statement lighting in a large, loft-style apartment.

    ---------------

    CONDITION:

As all parts are essentially new, the condition is expectedly excellent across the board.

The bulb is an E27 8w LED with an 1800K colour temperature, meaning it gives out very soft, warm white light.

    ---------------

    THE TECHNICAL BIT:

SPACESHIP has been created from scratch. The lamp features a high quality, machine-milled copper E27/ES lamp holder (which does include shade rings, meaning if desired a lampshade can be easily fitted). On the underside of the tripod base, a matching brass cable grip has been added, to ensure the cable stays firmly and safely in place.

SPACESHIP has been rewired with luxurious quality black and white herringbone-patterened cable, featuring a high quality white inline rocker switch 30cm from the lamp base, and a further 1m to the matching white UK 3-pin plug. The metal lamp holder is earthed using three-core cable, and the lamp has been thoroughly PAT tested and approved (with a sticker affixed near the plug to show the PASS status). Components comprise of a British-made and certified lamp holder and plug, and Italian-made cable and switch, which have passed or exceeded relevant CE and EU electrical integrity tests.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can your lamps be customised for my country?

Yes, absolutely! I ship worldwide, and I've already serviced many international orders. My lamps are fitted with either E14/SES or E27/ES lamp holders (which are usable with bulbs sold all over the world) and UK 3-pin plugs, but these can be swapped out to US E26/E12 Candelabra fittings on request for a small additional fee. A plug corresponding to your country will be added, and, if necessary, an inline on/off switch.

    https://www.worldstandards.eu/electricity/plugs-and-sockets/

Once converted, I will then test the lamps on a transformer and re-certify via an additional PAT test.

Please get in touch for more information regarding a quote for the conversion.

    Are your lamps safe?

Extremely! Each of my lamps is painstakingly assembled (I have a long history of competency with electrical wiring), and subsequently certified. I am PAT qualified and accredited. Moreover, all of my lamps use 3-core cable to ensure a proper, safe earthing conduit.

Please feel free to message me with any other questions.

Can you make custom lamps? What if I provided you with a vase or bottle?

One of the biggest joys of this whole endeavour so far for me has been problem solving each individual lamp I make.

If you've got a vase, bottle (or other item!) lying around you'd like to see turned into a lamp, please do get in touch with me! I'd be more than happy to discuss with you your ideas and how we could best achieve them.

Where did the names of your lamps come from?

All the lamps I make (either individual or a series) originally were named after all the dog siblings I've had in the family over the years, or pups I've known over the years. As my collection has grown, I've started to use character names from my favourite films and TV shows.

What happens if my order arrives damaged or broken?

I'm extremely conscientious about packaging. In the unlikely event your order is damaged in transit and arrives to you broken, please immediately photograph both the packaging and the lamp istelf. Please then forward the images within 24 hours to tom@lumenowl.co.uk, and I will then assess and resolve the situation for you.

Can you repair or rewire an old lamp I have?

Yes, absolutely! I've already done this a couple of times. I can remove aged lamp holders, wiring and switches and replace with brand new variants. Once complete, I will exhaustively test and certify via a PAT test.

Please drop me a message if you have any questions about this service, or would like a quote.
